Mark Ortiz

Mark Ortiz is a President’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Geography at the Pennsylvania State University. He obtained a PhD in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2022 and completed undergraduate studies in Environmental Politics at the University of Alabama in 2015. His research interests include youth climate movements, student organizing, climate change ethics and politics, and cultural representations of climate crisis. He is currently developing a book project on transnational youth climate activism and the global politics of climate change building on his National Science Foundation funded dissertation research.
