Jackie Liu is a rising senior double majoring in Neurobiology & Physiology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Asian American Studies. Originally from Frederick, MD, Jackie is currently on the pre-medical track with the hopes of one day becoming a physician-scientist, thereby combining efforts towards clinical research, health policy, and patient care. As such, Jackie has been involved in a number of clinical research pursuits, namely at UPenn’s School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine/Kennedy Krieger Institute, and UMD’s School of Public Health. Jackie also currently works as a Medical Assistant at a local dermatology office. Beyond medicine, Jackie is also extremely passionate about social justice and equity. Serving on the E-board of the Asian American Student Union for the past three years and for one year as Co-President, Jackie has helped push the campus conversation forward regarding AAPI equity, inclusion, and radical reform. Now serving as the Co-VP of Advocacy, Jackie, along with other AAPI students, is pushing forward a list of demands to foster a more just and inclusive campus for the entire AAPI community. Beyond these pursuits, Jackie enjoys baking and cuddling with her cat in her free time.
