Bronx Community College has shared two collections with Project Stand, including the archive of the BCC student newspaper, The Communicator, and also The Bronx Community College Yearbook Collection. Both collections have been digitized to provide searchable, online access.
The Communicator Student Newspaper Collection has a date range of 1959 to 2012, while the Bronx Community College Yearbook Collection spans the years of 1961-2001.
Both collections are invaluable resources that help document significant events, happenings, and student life throughout BCC’s history, including student protest activities, with the single-most notable protest topic by volume represented in the collections being the protests about CUNY tuition increases that happened throughout the 1970s.
