Project STAND and AUC Woodruff Micro-Grant: 80K to Support Digitization Projects
Project STAND’s commitment to social justice has not waivered since the consortium’s inception, the latest wave of the Black Lives Matter Movement provides a backdrop for the increased advocacy of collections on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) resistance. The support for institutions in need of financial resources to broaden access to archival collections related to student activism among underrepresented communities is a priority for Project STAND.
Through the generosity of The Mellon Foundation, partners in the “Building Capacity in the Ethical Documentation and Archiving of Student Activism in BIPOC Communities” grant project – Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library and Project STAND – are soliciting proposals for projects costing up to $8,000 to preserve and digitize historical student activist records.
Preference is given to applications from current members of Project STAND, but successful applications can be submitted from other institutions based on financial need and/or eligibility of the proposed project. Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other community or non-profit institutions focused on documenting people of color are encouraged to apply for the micro-grant here.
